  • Normal: Put about 2 quarts of water in a pan and bring to a boil
  • Back off on the heat until the water is barley simmering
  • Break each egg into long handled serving spoon
  • Float each egg in the simmering water
  • After 5 to 7 minutes fish the cook eggs out with the same long handled spoon and serve
  • Dutch oven on a wood fire: Put a Dutch oven in a clean fireplace a little off to the side. Put 2 quarts of water in the Dutch oven. Build a fire to the side of the Dutch oven and use a shovel to pile the fire and hot coals on one side of the Dutch oven. A fire on one side should be hot enough to boil the water. If not, build a fire on the other side also. When the water starts to boil break each egg into a long handled serving spoon. Float the raw eggs on the boiling water. Let them cook in the boiling water for 5 to 7 minutes. When cooked fish the cooked eggs out with the same long handled serving spoon and serve
